Apocalypse bastards

I heard this rhyme while I was in a state of... well, I was tripping my ass off on drugs I didn't take. Incarcerated in a holding cell, awaiting transport to Western State hospital, the verse came to me by way of a voice. Was it in my head, or someone messing with me? I wasn’t in any state to tell. The voice was that of a raving Englishman. The voice recited the first four lines, and I completed with the last two. I’ve played with the rhyme, and rewritten the lines often, in order to make some kind of sense out of it. So often, I wonder if this is the actual verse as it originally played out.

If anyone has read or heard anything that resembles this rhyme, please let me know. The knowledge will help me solve another part of a puzzle that has intrigued me for almost 3 decades.

Apocalypse Bastards, made true to their nature,
were sold as blue babies to red righteous fathers.
Ask for the fair children, and you just might see them
trade ploughshares for swords, knowing god will redeem them.
Those linen white chosen, should duty befall them,
with bible black shields, they’ll go as god calls them.
